About me
I’ve always been a curious storyteller. From a young age, communication has been my biggest strength and passion, with humble roots as editor in chief of my high school’s newspaper. While I took an unexpected turn into a finance career, that same skill became a lynchpin throughout as I collaborated with diverse stakeholders and earned customer service awards.
Service is another passion: for a couple years, I took a volunteer leadership position as communications chair for my company’s 600+ member regional PRIDE employee network, where I helped promote community causes, assist with fundraising events, and create engaging content and newsletters. (see portfolio). Later, as a mortgage underwriter, I communicated complex information to a diverse audience and told stories of applicants’ creditworthiness based on research and analyzing information. I still told stories — just not quite the ones I truly wanted to tell.
Currently, I’m seeking a role in nonprofit fundraising. Grant writing in particular is an interest of mine, and I’ve taken some training classes from the MN Council of Nonprofits to further my education.
